The Caribbean Fine Art Fair (CaFA) is set to make a vibrant return from March 6 to 10, 2024, at the historic Bagnall’s Point Gallery in Barbados. This year’s event promises to showcase the diverse talent of over 45 artists representing 16 Caribbean nations, along with international contributions from Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, the UK, and the USA.
With a focus on celebrating Caribbean creativity, CaFA 2024 will feature a variety of exhibits, including an exciting new “Artphoria” section that highlights the works of contemporary Barbadian artists curated by Artiverse, in partnership with the Bridgetown International Arts Festival. The event also includes panel discussions and workshops, such as “Artists for Change,” which will address pressing topics like climate change and its impact on the Caribbean.
Key highlights of the fair will include:
- Exhibitions: Notable artists from across the Caribbean will exhibit their work, providing a platform for both established and emerging talents.
- Workshops and Discussions: Engaging sessions with artists like S. Ross Browne and Moses Ros will take place, alongside presentations on how art can respond to environmental issues.
- Cultural Performances: The fair will also include performances in spoken word and fashion, showcasing the rich cultural fabric of the Caribbean.
This event is an essential gathering for creatives in the Caribbean, offering networking opportunities, exposure, and the chance to engage with global conversations about art and culture. As CaFA celebrates its 14th year, it continues to reinforce its role as a premier platform for artistic expression in the region.
