Kingston, Jamaica – Creatives across the Caribbean are being invited to apply for funding through the second round of the UNESCO Creative Caribbean Grant Support Programme, which aims to invigorate the region’s cultural and creative industries (CCIs). This initiative, backed by a €3 million grant from the European Union, supports artists, organizations, and entrepreneurs engaged in music, fashion, film, animation, visual arts, and more.
Deadline for Applications: Creatives can submit their applications until May 5, 2023, by 11:59 PM EST. The programme offers grants in three categories: Industry Grants, Enabling Environment Grants, and Training Grants, designed to enhance professional development and promote sustainable growth in the CCIs.
Focus Areas of the Grant
- Industry Grants: These support mobility for artists, product development, and small grants for emerging content originators and professional associations.
- Enabling Environment Grants: These aim to improve visual literacy, cultural policy, and national artist registries, essential for a thriving creative economy.
- Training Grants: This category focuses on capacity-building workshops that enhance the skills of creative professionals.
The Creative Caribbean initiative not only seeks to improve the economic landscape for artists but also aims to generate valuable research and data to inform policies that foster a more robust creative economy throughout the Caribbean.
Eligibility: The grant is open to a wide range of stakeholders, including individual artists, creative collectives, professional organizations, and educational institutions across 15 Caribbean nations.
